A power phrase is a brief, punchy phrase consisting of a few syllables confidently stating an inherent truth regarding You or our feelings about You, or encouraging You to execute a specific action You (presumably) want to execute.
Typically the phrase is shouted as strongly as possible, but this isn't necessary for it to still be a power phrase. The effect of this move is subtle, but reinforces the feelings of the speaker and audience, and can often significantly strengthen any move used during or shortly after the power phrase. While there is no finite and defined list of power phrases, some renowned examples include:
- "You Fucking Win!!"
- "I Love You!!"
- "You Are God!!"
- "You Are Perfect!!"
